Redesign of Case Study Coming Soon!
TruRelief AUG 22 - DEC 22
TruRelief is the name of the backpack I designed along with two other classmates. I wanted to redesign the backpack because of my personal experience with them. Since early grade school, I always had to carry multiple textbooks and notebooks from class to class, everyday of every school year. In college, those books have been replaced with my large laptop. Carrying heavy items all day is very painful. When I did some research, I realized that I wasn’t alone. The current design of backpacks forces the spinal cord to bend unnaturally, especially for kids whose bones are still growing, which is why many people experience that pain. Backpacks are supposed to help us carry items, not make life harder.
I wanted to solve this problem, and not just for students. Even full-time employees or anyone with a busy schedule deserve to have a backpack that is easy to carry around, fits all of their belongings, and reduces pain. That is what I intended to do with TruRelief. TruRelief has multiple newly designed features that help the user where a normal backpack fails. I hope to make this bag a reality and provide true relief for everyone.

Special Features Description
This backpack has a strong structural support and padding imbedded inside the back of the bag. This support also follows the natural curvature of the spine to help posture instead of destroy it. Inside the bag are multiple, specially designed pockets to hold everything, such as laptops, books, and even a lunchbox. With multiple carefully placed pockets inside, and only one zipper to open outside, there is no chance for the contents inside to move around and weigh the user down. The bottom of the bag also is specifically structured to push all the contents up. With TruRelief, it is impossible for the bottom of the bag to curve or weigh down, no matter what is inside.
TruRelief also has revolutionized backpacks with movable pouches. These large pouches function similarly to the smaller pockets of normal backpacks. However, our pouches can be easily accessible while on the go. Moving these pouches to the front can also distribute the weight of the bag since a portion of all the contents is in front of the user.
